QUESTION: Where does this well known phrase come from?  I can't remember or find it, and your help would be appreciated.

ANSWER: Martin -

miyagon = From sadness

l'simcha = to happiness

QUESTION: I'm familiar with the translation, but I was wondering which prayer or text does it originate from.  I know it can be found in the Hagada in the introductory paragraph before Hallel.  But is there another more basic text which serves as the source for this phrase?  Thanks again.

"כימים אשר נחו בהם היהודים מאויביהם והחודש אשר נהפך להם מיגון לשמחה ומאבל ליום טוב" (אסתר ט:כב)
