Question QUESTION: I am currently attending Florida Institute of technology. I am doing the fast track MBA that will get me an MBA in international business in five years. However, I am also interested in the MBA/MFA dual degree program that NYU have. Can I apply to the NYU MBA/MFA dual degree program if I already have an MBA in international business? I hope this makes sense and thanks.
ANSWER: Hi, Caroline.
I don't have any experience with the NYU program but I suggest you simply give them a call. They will be able to tell you exactly what their requirements are and, if you can't apply to their joint program, they can tell you whether you can just apply to the MFA program.
The whole point of a joint program is usually to save you a year by combining your studies, so it usually doesn't really work to get the MBA separately. It defeats the purpose.
Hope that helps.

QUESTION: Thank you for answering my question. It was very helpful. My follow-up question is, if I have an MBA in international Business, can I also get an MBA in finance? Thanks.
Answer Hi, Caroline.
This is also something that you need to check with various MBA schools. They would probably let you enroll, I suspect. The question is whether it is worth your while.
It sounds like you are experimenting with a variety of career options, so it might be helpful to talk with a career counselor.
Good luck.
