Question I am getting ready to start applying to graduate school, but my GPA is not very high. Right now it is a 3.4, realistically is this GPA good enough for grad school and if not what would you recommend that I do?
Answer Hi, Shannon.
3.4 is a decent GPA. Of course if you are applying to very competitive schools, you will need to supplement it with a strong GRE and Personal Statement.
You haven't mentioned what field you are going into or what schools you are considering, but your GPA certainly doesn't rule you out.
I have a lot of free info on the GRE, the Personal Statement and other strategies for standing out from the crowd. You can access these at http://www.cuttsreviews.com/jcutts/
Be sure to follow the links off the home page and fill in the form on the next page. This will get you the free booklet on strategies and additional info on the whole process.
If you'd like, and if your time is short, you are welcome to call me at 800-353-4898, day or evening, to go over how you can be competitive. There is no charge. If you are applying for next year, then there is a lot that needs to be done now and I'll be happy to talk with you.
