Expert: Jay Cutts - 4/18/2007

Question
hello jay,
i've been looking at several colleges to apply to this fall, and several of them require that i take a general college preparatory course to be considered for admission.
what is this course? is there a good one to take? where can i find it?
thank you very much
jenna

Answer
Hi, Jenna.

I don't have experience with undergrad admissions, which it sounds like you are talking about.  I imagine it would be something like a review of basic language and math skills to ensure that you have the basics to do well in college.  I'm not sure why they would need that unless you don't have a strong high school GPA.

I'd suggest you contact the admissions offices directly and ask them what they are looking for and why you would be required to take it.  I can't imagine they require that of all undergrad applicants.   They can then suggest where you take such a course.

Hope that helps.  Let me know if you need more info.
