Question
Dear Doctor,

My father's blood test shows high C reactive protein count (100mg/l). He is at the age of 64.

How should I proceed with the treatment ? Doctor  have prescribed antibiotics. General notes in the report & internet literature makes us panic indicating a high CRP as a possible symptom of severe medical condition.

Can you advise how to proceed with the case.

regards,

Geoffrey.

Answer
Hello Babal Geoffrey,
Warm welcome to you!
An increase in C reactive protein is nothing to be worried of. It just means your father is having an acute infection. This acute infection will be cleared by taking appropriate antibiotics. Stop worrying.

Thanking you!
