Question hello, I have this record with hendrix and curtis knight called "soul" itīs from -67 and is released on telefunken. Iīve scanned the net for info without luck, I assume itīs rare. Any info beyond that would be very appreciated.
Yes, the record itself is rare I suppose but the same (awful) recordings have been issued on so many different releases that Hendrix fans tend to avoid them.
The records recycled the same material from the three sources :
1. Original studio recordings by Curtis Knight & The Squires (1965-66)
2. Live recordings from Georges Club Hackensack, New Jersey (December 1965)
3. The summer 67 reunion sessions where Jimi simply jammed a little. The producer Ed Chalpin (PPX Enterprises) then looped and cut up the tapes and added vocals (by Knight) plus rhythm tracks to create "new" Hendrix material. These creations appeared in Jimi's lifetime on albums mixed up with old Knight recordings, namely "Get That Feeling" and "Flashing". The tracks have been recycled scores and scores of albums since.
