Question
I'm just wondering who did Jimi Hendrix influence in Rock n Roll? Like certain people,or bands?

Answer
Hi Jose,
that is a vast question ! Where to begin. Well, Jimi's arrival in England in the fall of 1966 and his triumphant return to the States in the summer of 67 vastly influenced musicians from many fields of music, whether pop, rock, blues or jazz.
In London, there were already some hot guitarists around of course, Clapton and Beck (Jimi was already a fan of their playing), Townshend, Dave Davis and Jimmy Page who was then a successful session musician. All of these artists were awestruck by what they saw and heard of The Jimi Hendrix Experience as were all musicians whatever their instrument.
Cream (with Clapton of course) emerged with The Experience and the two bands inspired a new generation of bluesy rock bands with hot guitarists, such as Free, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple… you name it. All owe something to Eric and especially Jimi for bringing high energy electric guitar to the forefront.
In the States also came Johnny Winter, Canned Heat, Blue Cheer, Cactus, Santana, Montain,…
Then there the artists who were more evidently influenced, openly showing their love of his music : Robin Trower (ex Procul Harem), Mahogany Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steeve Vai,…
In fact many an interview with all sorts of artists reveals that Jimi influence on the course of rock, blues and jazz was very far reaching. Miles Davis is another example. He brought electric instruments into his music, plugged his trumpet into a wah-wah pedal and told his guitarists to "play like Hendrix" !

Cheers

Jim
