Herbs for Health/DVT in 15 yr old

Question
my athletic 15-yr old daughter has been diagnosed with a DVT in her left leg from the iliac/femoral vein in her abdomen to her knee. She has been treated for 2-1/2 months with Lovenox. There has been no apparent reduction in the size of the clot and she just underwent a Trellis procedure to attempt to clean out the vein. That was unsuccessful due to the age and hardness of the clot. Traditional medicine has nothing else to offer other than use compression stockings and kiss your athletic scholarships and your way of life good-bye. What can we pursue holistically to aid her body in dissolving these clots. She is due to come off of the blood thinners in Oct.

The best alternative medicine you could use for her is acupuncture coupled with Chinese herbal medicine. A acupuncturist, especially one that is used to working with children, would be able to help her clot issue tremendously. Acupuncture will be able to move the Qi (chi) or energy around that point to dissipate the clot. Make sure you also ask your acupuncturist if they are comfortable with using chinese herbs. Not all acupuncturist get quality training on herbal medicine. There are certain chinese herbal formulas that are specifically for clots or what we call Blood Stagnation. The herbs will work with her body to decrease the size of the clot, and when coupled with acupuncture, you will have a sure fire treatment success!
