Herbs for Health - Hormonal Balance

Question
Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question and respond! I have been having hormonal balance problems for a while, mostly I deal with excess hairiness on my body and severe PMS. Lately though, my periods have gone from their usual three days to one and if I'm lucky two days with moderate bleeding going on 10 months now. I blamed it on stress of school and work, but my menses haven't been the same even after school ended. I do try to eat healthy and do moderate exercise but things aren't returning to normal. Hoping to help my body out, I am now taking Evening Primrose Oil (1,500 mg/day for about four days now) and having headache and nausea side effects with it. I read recently about Chaste Tree Berry and was wondering if it would be better for me to try that herb rather than the EPO?  Also, the women in my family have early menopause (between 36-40) and some difficulty conceiving. Should I take this into consideration when choosing these herbs?

Thanks again for your time,

Catherine

Answer
You can try the chaste berry and black cohosh  Also kelp for thyroid support and B complex and calium magnesium very important.  If you try a few things at atime to see if that help make sure you give it a few months to 6 months to really tell.  You may want to try fishoils instead of the evening primrose if you are having trouble.  Jayne
