Question
Hello, I am having problems with my crabs. One died just last week (I think i got him sick from the store) but now my other ones are growing very light. They still play and drink but i have no idea what to do to get them back to a nice darker color. They have both regular water and salt water. I change it daily. I change there food every other day (It seems like they don't eat anything). What I give them is hermit pellets, fish food, rice all covered in calcium. And I just added coconut and dried mini shrimp to the mix. I'm getting upset from them getting so pale. Any ideas?

Answer
First: Stop feeding the pellets they have bag chemicals that can make them die.
Second: The shrimp is a great idea.
Third: Give them a bigger variety they don't like to eat the same stuff over and over.
fourth: Carrots are the best way for them to gain color..Beta-carotene gives them color and is all carrots are.

good luck! Don't worry too much! They will be fine!

-Katie
