AboutDan Expertise Being a senior in high school, I have been through it all. High school's been the best and worst years of my life. I can answer anything from relationship problems to self image issues. I have been to many schools and I know how hard it is to make friends and want nothing more than to be accepted. I've learned patience and acceptance and I just want to help you guys out in any way I can =)

Experience I have been a camp counselor several times in the past. Whenever some of the kids I was looking after had a problem they came to me to help work it out.
Organizations Not really religious, but I help out the community church down the road by playing saxophone and piano for them whenever they put on a production.
Education/Credentials I'm a senior in high school and therefore have first hand knowledge of the subject.
Awards and Honors I'm an Honor Role student and I received the top academic award for my grade last year (the Dux award).
Question Hi, i'm a freshman right now so i'm still getting used to the way high school works. I am (not to sound stuck up) very smart and I want to do good in school. I have alot of friends who aren't freshman and they all know how the school works. Whenever I am doing my work, they all want to talk or if we are watching a movie (with a quiz following) they put their heads down and sleep ("they" as in my freshman and non-freshman friends). I want to do that but I can't stand the thought of getting a bad grade on an assignment so they all call me "goody two shoes". It hasn't bothered me until recently; when calling me that became a daily necsessity. Now I can't stand it! Am I really a goody two shoes for not wanting to fail at life? Should I not do my work? I am so frustrated.
Answer Haha not at all. Well, if you do well in school it really shouldn't matter to anyone as long as you have a cool personality. It's just something to make fun of somebody for. Everyone makes fun of everyone throughout high school so it's not really a big deal at all. Just keep doing what you feel's right. If they're your friends they won't care if you study a bit harder, just don't be snobbish about it (like bragging about how well you did, etc)
