High School Life - normal or wrong?

Question
Im 16 years old and I swore I wont evr look for love evr again, however im gonna let it look for me insted. The reason for this is because I had a long and painful history of tryin to start a relationship with girls. Needless to say, I faild evrytime and fell in a downward spiral of depression. Weirdly, my lifes gotten better after makin dat promis to myself. Without dat pressure on me its been easier for to communicate with others. Yet, I still get a lil down wen I see a happy couple together and start to question my promise. I didnt tell anyone about this cuz im a lil afraid of their opinion. Wat do you think?

Answer
Juan,

What you're doing is completely normal.  Actually, after my last girlfriend I told myself the same thing and it's working wonders for me--I'm not actively looking for a woman to date, and it makes me much more comfortable with people and gives me a chance to practice flirting with any ulterior motive.

I don't see anything wrong with not looking for love, Juan.  Maybe not forever, but I can perfectly understand not looking for love for a while.

Cheers,
Tyler
