I'm trying to find out if Amanda's mentor & immortal trainer was Cate Blanchett?  I don't know what season they showed this character, but I think her characters name was Rachael. I also think her character was killed by a character played by the lead singer from "Fine Young Cannibals". Please help me find out if this character was played by Cate Blanchett & if not who was the actor to play her. Any & all help will be appreciated.

Hi Nicole. Amanda's teacher, Rebecca Horne, was played in the series by Nadia Cameron. Her filmography can be found here:

The character appeared in two episodes of Highlander: The series. The first was the season two episode 'Legacy,' where she was still alive in present time, and the first part of her history with Amanda was discussed. In that episode, Rebecca was killed by Luther, the immortal played by Emile Abossolo-M'bo.

Roland Gift, the Fine Young Cannibals singer, played the part of Xavier St. Cloud, a recurring bad guy who had no contact with Rebecca during the course of the show (Although that would have made an interesting episode *g*).

Nadia showed up as Rebecca once again in season four, this time in flashback. The episode was Methuselah's gift, which continued with the story of the crystals Luther had killed her for. There was actually talk of having her character return to be Duncan's 'guide' in the finale of the series, but Nadia was unavailable, and it fell to Duncan's old friend Fitz (Roger Daltry) to do the job :-) For more information on episodes, a great site to check out is the Highlander A-Z:
