Experience I don't have any "official" experience, but if a friend ever missed an episode or had a question about something, I was the one they turned to. Answer This is a tough question, because it depends on personal preferences. While each season has its share of standout episodes, I would say the best way to decide would be to ask yourself what your favorite episodes are. If a few of them come from the same season, then I would say to buy that season. If you decide on episodes from seasons 5 or 6, I know that season 5 is coming out on DVD in August, and season 6 is schedules for a November release. Since you mentioned season 3 in your question, personally I would agree with this season becuase it explains how Duncan got his katana (along with some more training and more of a sense of honor), it explains more of his past that was hinted at in previous episodes, and it introduces the character of Methos in the "Kalas" storyline that spanned about 5 episodes. Again, it is really up to you and your personal preference.
