About Summer Summer Lei Shidler
Expertise
I have been watching both Highlander: The Series and Forever Knight since they began airing. I have every episode of both series on tape, and have watched them more times than I can count. I know the history of most of the characters and I have the Watcher Chronicles CD in two versions, so anything I don`t know offhand, I can look up. I can answer questions about plots, characters, episodes and some cast members.

Highlander - The Watchers

Expert: Summer Summer Lei Shidler - 7/28/2004

Question
Are all Watchers who reveal the organization or interfere with their charges put on trial for treason and executed as was to be Joe's punishment, or is only when the revealing and interfereing results in the deaths of other watchers?

Answer
The Watchers swear to secrecy, but based on my knowledge of the show, as well as some discussions I have had with others, I would conclude that the head of the Watchers at that time was not a well-balanced guy (nor were the other judges), and that the standard practice would be imprisonment or something similar (they obviously couldn't banish them, so they don't have alot of options).

Think of it in term of regular law, if a spy were to reveal his nature to someone, he would probably be punished with imprisonment, but if he told someone and thereby caused the deaths of a bunch of other spies, he would be tried for treason and possibly recieve the death penalty.
