Question Smartwool jackets and shirts.
What do you think of them? I have tried on the
Cascade and Zirkel jackets but they seem to be for fat or bulky people. I am a
cyclist so I am lean. I wonder if after washing or washings would they fit
better. Like and dislikes? Silk clothing? durability?
Answer I apologize but have no experience with SmartWool jackets and shirts. I have used their socks and like them (as an outer layer, using a polypropylene sock liner). In the past, I used silk but found it to be expensive and to wear out quickly. My preference is for polypropylene shirts (long or short sleeved) with a polypropylene jacket or GoreTex shell (or both), as weather dictates. Layers of these synthetic materials wick moisture away from you and will keep you warm even if wet.
Hope this helps.
