Question
In deep sleep state consciousness exist but if I'm right consciousness is not present when one is in under anesthesia or in a coma or fall into unconsciousness due to accident/injury. How does vedanta see this?

Thanks.

Answer
Hi,

Consciousness exists at all times and at all places. It is beyond time and space. There is no difference between Deep Sleep - Coma - anesthesia - unconsciousness - DEATH all these are identical as far as consciousness is concerned.

Thanks for asking this question. Will clarify more if required.

Best wishes,
