Question
Dear respectful Raja Subramaniyan,

Please accept my humble obeisance.

Please validate my understanding about Mind and Consciousness
1. We are not Mind
2. Mind is nothing but thoughts.
3. Mind is combination of Intelligence, Memory, Ego (I) and mind (oscillating thoughts)
4. I am the consciousness
5. Mind can go from consciousness to unconsciousness and vice-versa. But Consciousness (I) will remain conscious all the time.
6. Consciousness is like movie screen and mind is like projected images.

Please let me know, my understanding is correct.

Sincerely,
Suresh

Answer
Dear Suresh,

Yes, your understanding is perfect. Ignorant people assume that the meaning of I as Ego (Item No 3 in your list) and wise people know it to be Consciousness (Item no 5). Therefore, even though my body will die, I am immortal.

Best wishes,
Raja Subramaniyan
