Question
Hi Professor Swapan Garain,

I am currently a student at Miami Dade College and completing an assignment on Hinduism and hoping to have a few question answered by an expert.

1. What is the meaning and purpose of a Hindu's life?
2. How does one find this purposeful existence?
3. Are there various methods/concepts?
4. How has Hinduism shaped your life?

Thank you!

Answer
Dear Jayme

Hindu life is not very different than that of other religion. Some part is ritualistic, and the other is spiritual. while some individuals believe and practice the ritual part more than the other. other identify to the other aspect. There is not standardised practice, followed by all.   There are no different methods as such. Personally, I do not practice religious life as such although I go to temple occasionally.

Hope that helps
