Question
sir, what is the minimum requirement to commence karma yoga?
i.e.who is qualified to do karma yoga?
thanks.

Answer
Dear Rahul,

Thank you for your questions.

The minimum requirement for any yoga is a sincere desire to realize God/dess or the Atman (Self), and this will manifest as a desire to live a pure and holy life, observing the basic moral precepts of ahimsa, non-injury, and satya, truthfulness. Beyond these, patient, persistent practice is needed for success, including the willingness to suffer many "failures" before one feels any success. As my Guru said, "There can be no failure as long as you keep struggling." Many consider discipleship to an enlightened Guru very important, too. Yoga practice is subtle, and it is best learned from a master of it.

Best wishes,
