Question
Dear Prof Swapan

I would like to know the sequence of rights given for performing final rites
after person's death.

I.e. Son or Father, Brother, paternal uncle, paternal cousin brother, maternal uncle etc

Answer
Dear Prashant

The male members of the family, who are in direct lineage like eldest son, youngest son, father, eldest brother, youngest brother, and then the paternal side male members.

I would advice you meet any neighborhood Hindu Brahmin priest for details.  Your queries will be satisfied.

Hope that helps
