Hindus/Bhasmadharan by women
I would like to clear some doubts about bhasmadharan. I know that bhasma is auspicious when we wear it as three parallel lines on 5,8,16 or 32 places of body including forehead. I started doing it daily after taking bath in the morning. My wife also joined with me in my pooja. On seeing me applying bhasma on my body, she also some times applies bhasma as three lines on her upper arms, elbows, wrists and neck along with her forehead. I did not prevent her from doing so, but I have a doubt that whether women can smear bhasma on their body other than forehead?
Any one, man or woman, can wear bhasma on their entire body and that is only good and nothing bad. However, one does not become spiritual by just wearing bhasma but by controlling one's mind and the sense-organs and directing them to God.
With best wishes,
