Question
My girlfriend last night asked me at the Blue Jackets game why they don't just
put pads on a 400 lbs man and stuff him into the goal? I had no real answer, can
you give me one? I have some obvious answers but why? Has it ever been tryed?
Thanks- Mark

Answer
Hey Mark!

That is probably the best question I've ever gotten :)  The only reason I think they haven't done that is becase the pads can get pretty heavy and wear on you throught a long game...constantly going up, down, side, side, front, back, etc.  The dude probably wouldn't make it through the 3rd period.  I've not heard it being tried on a pro team, but I've seen some pretty big dudes in net...it only works if you hit him :)

Cheers,

T
