Hockey - IHL,AHL

Question
I was just wondering how much on average IHL, or AHL players get paid and what there pay is based on.

Answer
Well, first off, there is no more IHL. There is the AHL now only. Secondly, most of the players that are under contract with the NHL teams are under two way contracts and it depends on each individual contract as to how much each player earns. Usually, the player is slated make a certain amount if they play in the NHL and then a percentage of that, when they play in the AHL, or even the ECHL (A step lower than the AHL). The percentage can sometimes depend on the contract. Now, each AHL team can sign some of its own players to fill out rosters. Most of these players make about 100K or more each. But that depends on the team and financial situation of the actual AHL team.

Hope this helps, ask anything else if you wish! Have a great day!
