AboutStacy Brice Expertise My company, Assist University, trains people in every aspect of starting, and more importantly, sustaining, their businesses, while having a high quality life. Additionally, I am a professional business coach. I coach clients to get from where they are, to where they want to be, professionally. All of my clients are small business owners.
I run a web design business. I do freelance work for other advertising agencies. When they refer someone's contact information to me, what obligation do I have to them for the client referral? This company gave me the name of a person in need of website work. They are now asking for 25% payment for all future work I do for this client.
Thanks,
Peter
Answer Hi, Peter...
Sorry for the delayed response--I didn't get the first notification that ALLExperts sent me about your question.
Unless you have an agreement (signed or verbal) that stipulates that you'll pay them part of your income in exchange for the referral, you are absolutely not obligated to.
