Question QUESTION: I have a Geneva 4 drawer upright file cabinet. I would like to be able to lock it. There is no punch out scribed, like on a Hon cabinet. How do I install a lock and what kind should I purchase?
ANSWER: If you need to create holes for locks...buy the locks you plan to use, then cut the hole. Locks vary greatly.

QUESTION: What kind of lock do I buy for this kind of cabinet? If I buy one for a Hon cabinet will it also work on the brand I have? Can you give me some suggestions on where to get it?
Thank you!
Answer A locking file cabinet is one that has a single lock in the top that uses a lever action to lock all drawers at once. If you put in single locks per drawer...you need a lock that will fit the drawer and the lip it will lock against. You may need to research several small turn locks to find one that fits your drawers best.
