Experience I have been a remodeling Contractor for 25 yrs. That is a lot of satisfied customers to brag about.
I have 3 perfectly good, old, well built lawn chairs - not the folding kind. The webbing is starting to break from old age and sun rot. They belonged to my aunt and I have nostalgic reasons for wanting to redo them as well as not having to buy a lesser quality chair.
The webbing is attached with clips and not screws. I bought some webbing at a chain hardware store and find it to be of poor quality. I did try to attach a couple of the bottom straps but can't get them really tight. I have 3 questions: (1) Where would I find good quality webbing? (2) Is there a trick other than brute strength to get them nice and tight? (3) Do you have step by step instructions for attaching with clips?
I appreciate your time and suggestions.

Answer My dad would do this because of the strength of the OLDER materials. If you can find a web that is strong enough...he would put the clip on one side, then use a screw in the clip for the other side. Usually the tongue on the clip would break off, so the screw was the next resolve.
