Question
What is the code on putting in a hollow wood front entry door?

Answer
There usually isn't one. The only entry door codes that I know of are ones that require them to be fire rated when separating the living space of a home from a garage. But, I'd call your local city hall to make sure. Ask to speak to the building inspector. Don't worry, you will not have to take out a permit. The only time that is necessary is if you are manipulating/ altering the rough opening (the studs beneath the door). Bottom line.. probably no code requirements for entry doors.. but check with your local building department. Better safe than sorry.

P.S. Unless you have to, stay away from hollow core doors for entry. They're usually meant for interior use. The elements will make hollow core (Laminated) doors fall apart.
