Subject: Do I need to use an oil-based primer

Question
We want to paint a room that had been wallpapered. We have already removed the paper (it peeled right off), and now we need to know what type of primer to use before we paint?

Answer
If the walls are clean...I would not recommend an oil base prime, except for Kilz...it is a stain blocker and primer.  However....you will need to sand the walls after to prep or a latex base color.  Find a latex primer...if you feel it needs a primer.
