"Make a Difference Award" from WTHI channel 10 in Terre Haute Indiana. We have recently received the Fueling Good prize from Citgo where we won free gas for a year, that will help us in our efforts to make homes warm, safe and dry for our elderly and disabled neighbors. We were recently featured on WXIN 59 in Indianapolis on their "Paying it Forward" segment, mainly because I pay for 90% of the repairs that Table Talk makes from my own pocket.

We focus our attention to the elderly, the disabled and the disadvantaged. We are receiving clients from 1 Federal and 5 State Agencies, 9 different public and private organizations plus multiple churches and hospitals.

Question
Hello- we purchased a home in New Mexico in February. The home inspection was fine, but now we are finding virtually every single window in our home has cracks all the around in the caulk beneath the new paint. We're very concerned about what this might mean. Is it possible these are caused by house movement or perhaps another, less ominous problem, and is there a way we can tell? Thanks for any advice!

Since this is every window and not one particular room, and, since you purchased in February.

Remove the old caulk and recaulk all the windows, but, use a silicone caulk this time.

The air in February had more moisture and then it dried out in the summer, now moisture is building back in, whoever caulked it, did it with a cheaper caulk and it is not moving with the house, silicone will expand and contract as the home moisturizes and dries back out.
