Expert: Harvey Chichester - 10/29/2009
Question We are converting our covered porch into a sunroom, building on an existing concrete pad. We built walls around the thing, but a heavy rain sent water under the walls and into the room, in spite of sealing the bottom edge with caulk outside. Any other ideas on how we can seal this? Our wall base plate is treated lumber and is anchored to the concrete. There's about a 6" ledge of concrete on the outside that is still exposed to the weather. Thanks
Answer It is best to seal along the out side edge of your base plate. If you can not you may be able to do a good job with an epoxy grout cove. You can buy it for about $98 at www.concrete-floor-coatings.com You may get buy with a $23.98 qt. of epoxy crack filler.
Best of luck.
Harvey
