Question Hello, my name is Jordan and I have a bit of a problem that maybe you can assist me with.
I currently live in an older (not very well kept) rent home within south/ central Oklahoma that faces south. My problems is that I am a college student that recently rented this house and now am getting an electric bill that is almost $200. On a student budget I cannot afford it. I turned off the air the other day to save money (I was going to do it for a few days), but the temp got well into the 90s WITHIN THE HOUSE. Do you know have any affordable suggestions to cooling my VERY non-energy efficent house and keeping it cool, so that I do not have to spend my entire summer at the campus library, because I cannot afford air conditioning?

Also try using a ceiling fan if you have one, running it constantly on low will help pull the warm air out.
Since it's a rental, theres probably not a whole lot your gonna be able to do. Sealing all possible air leaks is key.
