Home Improvement--General - Patio Drainage

Expert: Harvey Chichester - 6/18/2009

Question
I have a raised patio that is not more than an inch from T111 siding (didn't know they were going to pour it so high).  Of course I am getting a lot of water damage.  Is there anything I can do to get the water away from the walls.  The patio is not covered.

Answer
Dear Cindy,

If the patio is not moving up an down I would try grouting in the area between the siding and the patio then coating with a two part epoxy.  This will allow the water to slide down the siding onto the water proof cove and out onto the patio and away.

You can go to www.concrete-floor-coatings.com for a free cost analysis.

Regards,

Harvey Chichester
