Home Improvement--General/insulation

Question
Dear GW,
I have an old house and want to insulate the roof rafters to finish my attic. The problem is that most rafters are spaced at 26 +/- 1 inches leaving a nonstandard gap between them. Can I still use fiberglass batts? Recommendations? Sincerely, Dick Schlueter

Answer
Richard- I have run into this as well. My solution was to line the rafters with a foam board cut to fit and then using a standard batt insulation. it actually makes the system even more efficient than the standard method because it makes the "fit" in between rafters super snug.
Please feel free to contact me for any reason.
