Home Improvement--General/Switches breaking
This house was built in 2007. The light switches are breaking one by one (3 or 4 are gone this far). See attachments. They're not abused, are treated gently. Would this be a common problem with this type of switch design? Would it be the brand? I'd like to find out the cause, b/c if this type of wide flatten style of switch is prone to breaking just by flipping them, I'd rather replace them with the traditional type. What would be a reason for these switches breaking so easily?
Thanks in advance,
Rick you nailed it right on the head.
These switches when they became extremely popular do wear out quite quickly. There are some more reputable companies pushing these type of switches. For the best products go to the electrical supply houses. Not the big box stores. You will pay a little more but much better quality switch.
Hope this helps and thanks for asking. Keep in mind a typical switch will last 10 years.
Hope this helps you out
