Home Improvement--General/building on asphalt

Question
I am considering building a single story house on 6" of asphalt that was once used as a tennis court. it is high grade asphalt and is built on well settled and hard packed fill about 30 years old. there is no sign of cracking or deterioration in the asphalt. do you recommend a footer or can I place block on the asphalt?

Answer
Wayne- I would cut the asphalt and put an actual footing in for columns used for the house. I would build it pole barn style with infill panels of framing for walls. The concern would be wind sheer -might push your new house off the court......
Best,
