Home Improvement--General/book cases

Question
I just rented an office with very high ceilings (20ft) and want to put book cases along two sides.  I am thinking about going up about 12 ft but wonder if that would be too much weight.  The walls are just sheet rock over 2 x 4 studs. What do you think would be the maximum height for the book cases?

Answer
Richard you can go all the way to the top if you do a conventional framing with studs and plywood. Anchoring across the studs and screwing to each one. If you make it strong enough it should not be a problem. With that being said. What you are putting on these shelf will need to be determined. Are you placing office books or stacking machinery?

Hope this helps
