Question
asbestos?
asbestos?
Hello,
We live in a home built in 1951. We know the basement vinyl tiles contain asbestos. Today, the living room wall became damaged and my spouse began sawing into it with an electric saw (not wet sanding), releasing much dust until I realized and asked him to stop. What is the liklihood these walls contain asbestos? Am attaching a photo. Thank you.

Answer
Sara- Not likely at all, but it does not hurt to have it tested. As well as long as the tiles walls and other materials are solid and stable than asbestos is reasonably safe. Have the drywall in the picture tested though, just for peace of mind.
Best
