Home Improvement--General/Crack in Drywall

Question
Dear Glen,

I noticed a small (small in width, but about 1 foot in length) vertical crack in my bathroom drywall, very close to the vanity cabinet. The top of the crack is slightly below where the top of the vanity would be.  The drywall was put up in July 2010.

The house was built in 1958.

Is this a sign of sagging foundation or could it be something else?

Thanks,
James

Answer
James- Sorry for the delay but I have been out in a remote area on a project.....
Chances are that this crack has nothing to do with your foundation sagging-since the house was built in '58. More likely it is shrinkage of framing behind the new drywall. Was the room renovated in 2010? To be sure, though, I need much more information. Do you have some pics you can send?
Please feel free to contact me for any reason.
Best,
Glen
