Home Improvement--General/hardwood flooring over concrete slab

What is the proper way to install pre engineered hardwood flooring to a concrete slab, glue or float? Please consider one of the homeowners is in a wheelchair and have been told by the builder that a wheelchair will ruin a floating floor's joints. Is this true?

Hello Adrianne,
My personal preference is to glue the hardwood flooring onto a concrete slab.  To me the floor just feels better and is quieter.  It is more expensive.  Some companies do not recommend floating their floors over concrete - if you are thinking about floating you should check with the flooring manufacturer.  I have not heard anything about a wheelchair ruining a floating floor's joints.  May be true but I don't know anything about it.
All in all I would recommend a really nice glue down.  If you have any more questions let me know.
Good luck,
