Question
I'm a new home owner and I am not at all handy. I have holes in my drywall that are a little bit bigger than the size of a quarter. If there is any hints in how to spakle these properly it would be greatly appreciated. If you could tell me the proper tools to use that would be a great  help too. Thank you.

Answer
thats big holes for a new home.too big for spackle.i would pick up a 5" or 6" wide drywall knife, also  some bag mix of 45 0r 90 usg ,or sheet rock mud, this you mix with water, just enough for the work you are doing.the number on bag represents time it takes to get hard, mix it stiff ,and prefill the holes, wipping tight to board.just filling the hole.after setting ,put small layer 1 inch or two bigger than hole ,and now tape it,wipping mud tight from under tape.after setting skim a small layer over tape, each time little bigger, than before, thre coats and smoothed out and sanded should be like ne. if smaller than the quarter, you wont need to tape, jim
