Home Improvement--General/Installing a basketball goal

Question
I recently purchased a professional model in-ground 60" basketball goal with a one piece 12' steel post. The instructions call for 9 bags of concrete. After the concrete is mixed and poured, the waiting time is 72 hours.

Would it be possible to use quickcrete instead?

Answer
Erick,
The problem here is not the amount of concrete it is the time. Quickcrete will indeed dry faster when it is sitting out and has room to let the water evaporate. But you have to dig a deep hole to set the pole in. So it will dry faster but how much quicker? 48 hours?

Save the money and get a better ball use regular concrete. won't save to much time with the other.

I do not see why the 72 hour wait is a problem. Pour it this weekend and play next. You didn't have it before this so you should be able to wait for another week. Besides the NBA playoffs are on. SPend time watching those this weekend and then play like a pro between games next weekend
good luck
