Home Improvement--General/deck in winter to make non-slip

One of the best ways to keep from slipping on floor surfaces is with Earth magnets.  Place 2" pieces approximately 2' apart on each side of the walkway in question.  You will install these on the UNDERSIDE of the deck or walkway using 2 part epoxy.  The 5 minute cure epoxy works great.  Next, you continue placing these every foot or so down the path, much like the spacing when you are walking.  Next, place the same size pieces inside of each one of a pair of shoes to your liking.  You will find that they work so well you can almost walk up a wall with them.  Good luck!

I'm a Minnesota Licensed General Contractor specializing in the installation of exterior home products, air & water infiltration, energy efficiency and light remodeling. I specialize in the installation of doors & windows with the other exterior products such as siding, roofing, decks and fencing thrown in as a bonus. Installation of doors and windows have been one of the biggest topics in the industry over the past ten years. With all the issues related to mold & mildew from improperly installed products, consumers health have been at risk. Even the best products money can buy can't protect itself from improper installation. Educating the consumers on what's really right for their home is important to me. I try to give my customers all the answers they need to make the best decision they can. The home is the biggest investment most people make in their lives, maintenance and remodeling are the biggest headaches people face on a daily basis. Most of us experts learned most of our trade from someone who had the time to help us along. We've gained the rest by learning from our mistakes and just doing what we had to. Over the past 34 years in the industry I've tried to be the best at what I do. If I can help someone else do something I learned the hard way, I'll save them some stress and lost sleep. It may also save a marriage from those battles of not getting things done in the proper "Time Frame" (that's what my wife used to always tell me). I know first hand the struggles my wife and I have gone through with running our own business together, renovating our home and raising our son. I'll do my best to answer any question out there. Let's make life a little easier!

My experience started back in the mid-seventies working for a door and window manufacturer. I started at the bottom sanding and finishing products. I worked my way up the ladder over time and eventually learned everything they had to offer. I moved around from one company to the other learning everything from installation to sales. I've always kept up on all the changes and pushed myself to find better ways to make things more efficient. Most of my experience comes from trial and error. You learn a lot from what you've done over time. I still live my life by honor and respect. I want my customer to gain my trust and be comfortable with the entire job. I find this method works out well for me.

Most of my education has come from working in the industry for the past 34 years. I feel the best education is learned in the field. I spend a lot of time educating the educators in most places. I've been certified by almost all the major manufacturers. Most of them have been using our services before certification ever existed.
