Expert: Wayne Tapia - 10/19/2009

Question
hello
i am using Adobe Audition 3.0 and i need to replace the singer voice by mine
so i have the music of the song and i will only replace one word so i need to say it by my voice
but the problem is that my voice is very far from the singer voice quality :D
so is there anything i can do to change the bitch and the frequency of my voice
any program that can automatically match my voice with the singer?

Answer
You gave me a knowledgability rating of 3 which I would like to dispute.

Unless YOU know of a program that can do this, there is no program that will. I've been a recording engineer for over 25 years, and saying I have a lack of knowledge in this area is an incredible insult. You asked me the question, and I honestly told you that there is no program that will automatically do that for you. You can use AutoTune if you want to change everything, but your singer's voice will lose it's characteristics, and the vocal track will be homogenized.

If such a program existed, I definitely would know of it because it is my job to know and to utilize such tools. If you're going to come onto this site and ask questions, be prepared to get answers that you might not like because any reputable expert will give you the truth about these matters.

If you are engineering something, and don't know how to change the pitch of something, then you need to do some basic recording studies.
