Question
hi! i just bought a tascam 464 and whenever i hit the play button both the pause and record button light up at the same time,then the machine makes a whirring sound which dies downb after a coup0le of seconds. i think it may have something to do with the motor belt but i don't wanna open it up right now, in case it can be solved in another way. thanks

Hey Mario, I'd bring it in & have it looked at by a qualified technician man. From the sounds of it, it could be any number of things causing the trouble & without actually taking it apart, it's impossible to say what's going on. Sorry I can't help any more than that, if there anything else you need, just drop me a line.

I have been working in studios for over 20 years both as a recurring artist playing on my own recordings & as a session musician, engineer & producer. I run a Mac based studio from my home, use mostly Logic or Garageband. I'll use Garageband for writing & Pre-Prod & move the project over to Logic afterwards. I also have experience using Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Ableton Live & many others. My preferences are Logic & Pro Tools & as such my area of expertise is focussed in these two apps. I'm also an IT guy, sysadmin & electronics technician so can help with technical questions relating to studio operation & maintenance.
