Home Recording - Recommended EQ Setting Leslie Speaker

Expert: Kyle Aylor - 6/24/2009

Question
Is there a recommended EQ setting for a leslie speaker / Hammond organ?

Answer
Marion,
The EQ is completely based on the situation. If the instrument is solo you should probably set the EQ for a broader spectrum, basically taking up more "space". In a band situation watch for too much in the 300-800hz range. This is where the mud or cloudiness lies. Also, control your peaks in the 1k-3k range. You will dueling with guitars and vocals in that range. As with anything, just use your ears and good taste.
