Question QUESTION: What type of mikes (omnidirectional?) would you suggest for a home recording of classical piano, to be released as a CD? Are there any decent mikes for this purpose in the $100 price range? I like an ambient, unprocessed sound, not too close to the grand piano. Thanks.
ANSWER: Is this for recording to a computer or another medium?

QUESTION: What I am thinking of using is a device like the Tascam-BB1000. It would record a CD, then I would take the CD to be edited elsewhere.
ANSWER: There are 2 mics I am familiar with in your price range. The Samson C03U and the Behringer B-2 are both good mics for the money. I personally would recommend a used higher quality mic, but for what you are doing I think either of those two would do the trick.
