Home Recording/Cutting tracks

Question
I was wondering if there was a way to create an exact image copy of a music CD and edit the individual tracks without compromising the audio? For example if it is orchestrated music and each track in actuality contains 3 or 4 songs that preferably should have their own tracks?

Answer
This is how I go about it:

Rip the CD Into iTunes as .wav or .aiff files
Then import those into you editing software (I personally use Pro Tools)
After editing, import them back into iTunes, and burn a new CD

I hope this is what you're looking for!
