Home Recording/Pan trouble

I have a Roland VS-880EX machine. I am trying to record the sound from it in my computer through my sound card, Focusrite Starlette 2I2. When I listen to my VS through the headphones, the sound is great. When I try to record it on my computer, the pan is not working properly. When I turn tracks too far on one side, the sound just fades. How come I can't get the sound on my computer that I get from my headphones? I tried to plug it in my soundcard with a 1/4 cable through the headphones jack. I also tried to use RCA cable, for my VS has RCA(white and red) audio out. Nothing seems to work. Any idea? Thank you very much.

Are you using both inputs on the Starlette? You will need to be using both, as the inputs are NOT stereo inputs. If you can get 2 RCA to 1/4" TS cables (or use standard RCA cables with this type of adapter:http://i00.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/457594148/RCA-Female-to-1-4-TS-Male-Adapter.j) This should solve the issue.
