Question
My family lives in Australia and I have been homeschooling my son for about 6 months and he will be completing year 1 this year. I have been looking at all of the curriculums online and am amazed at what is available. Can I choose a curriculum that is not in Australia?

Hi, Carolyn. I want to start by apologizing for taking so long to answer your question. I started a new job last week, and I've been super busy.

I'm not familiar with homeschooling legal requirements in Australia, so I don't know if there are specifications you have to use a particular type of curriculum. I think your best bet is to get in touch with other homeschoolers in Australia and ask them for advice. Here are links to three places you can find Australian homeschool support group info.

Good luck on your journey!

Expertise

I can answer pretty much any question about homeschooling, particularly in relation to the unschooling method. I am happy to answer questions from parents who are homeschooling their children or kids/teens who are being educated at home. I can also offer perspective on life after homeschooling, and what it`s like to be a grown homechooler in college and the workplace.

Experience

I am a grown homeschooler. My three younger sisters and I were educated at home from K-12. We were unschoolers, so my experience lies primarily in that area of homeschooling.
